Abstract Lab

Abstract Lab

history

Located in the north of France, near the old coal mining lands, Abstract Lab is a private recording studio.

Beatmaking has been my world since 2000. Over the years, this place has grown from a simple obsession: collecting machines, experimenting with sound, and refining a personal workflow shaped by decades of practice.

The studio is built around samplers and vintage digital gear, with a strong focus on late 80s to mid-90s production techniques. Each piece of equipment is selected for its character, not its convenience.

Tracks are mixed through a 32-channel analog console and outboard processors — preserving depth, warmth, and the subtle imperfections that define classic records.

More than a studio, Abstract Lab is a creative environment where limitations become a strength. Working with hardware imposes decisions, encourages intuition, and keeps the process raw and authentic.

Old records, vinyl textures, and imperfect sounds are an essential part of the workflow. Nothing is over-polished — everything is intentional.

This is not about chasing modern trends, but about building timeless sound.

If you’re looking for a distinctive sound, rooted in hardware and driven by experience, Abstract Lab offers a focused and uncompromising approach to music production.
